Weekend Perfection

Every weekend should involve epic waffles with a side-helping of stripes....

Getting dressed in your comfiest, go-to wardrobe staples and heading out for breakfast is really how every Saturday should be. There's something just lovely about not having to think about what you pull out the cupboard knowing that you're about to fill yourself with the most delicious brunch.

This is definitely my go-to weekend outfit...

If I'm not sporting stripes on Saturday then something is really wrong. This is one of my favourites of the moment. There's just something classic about a breton top, it's so easy to throw on with whatever and just gives you a chic look. This one is a really soft material and just feels so comfy, I'm a little bit in love.

Pop on skinny jeans, wrap around your big, favourite scarf and throw on a denim jacket and you're good to go. You'll find me pretty much in this outfit every weekend. Sometimes I'll switch it up with red stripes and blue jeans, but ya know, if it ain't broke and all that.

This particular weekend I happened to be visiting my sister in Edinburgh so we trotted along the cobbled streets to find the perfect breakfast stop.

We ended up in Papii Cafe on Hanover street and it was time for tea and a browse of the menu...

I just couldn't resist the bacon and maple syrup waffles!

Papii Cafe is a lovely little spot. It's really welcoming and has such a brilliant weekend laid-back vibe that's just perfectly chilled out. They serve up all locally sourced produce and it's just delicious! It's ideal right in the centre for some shopping afterwards, which of we did. It's really cute and small and bustling, but at the same time just a wonderfully relaxed place to spend your weekend morning.

We pulled up some chairs at the windows, sipped on tea, chatted away and tucked into waffles.

What an blissful Saturday....

A Garden for an Art Lover

There's nothing prettier than a garden blooming with flowers.

A couple of weekends ago my sister and I decided to go on a wander.

I'd heard about House for an Art Lover a while ago and have always wanted to take a trip. So we jumped on the and made our way to the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh building. It was such a shame that when the actually got there most of it was shut off - nooooo! But thankfully the beautiful garden made up for it.

Found in Bellahousten Park is a beautiful walled Victorian Garden that leads into the magnificent house.

It was filled with the most beautiful flowers and there where bursts of colour everywhere you looked. It was just stunning and we couldn't believe what we'd stumbled on. Gorgeous.

There were flowerbeds in full bloom....

Flowers growing tall....

We just completely immersed ourselves in petals!

What struck me the most was just how relaxing it was. You could wander in amongst the greenery or just sit and enjoy the quiet atmosphere.

It takes you into this bubble just away from the busy, bustle of the outside world. There's no rushing around and everyone is just enjoying the calm.

Just beautiful.

A big garden, bouquet of the prettiest flowers!

Of course we had to meander back to the House to enjoy a coffee and cake - I mean what else are lazy weekends for....

I think I may have found my new favourite place in Glasgow that's for sure!

Crystal Ski - Get More Winter

The winter season is almost upon us so it's time to get the skis on!

Recently I popped along to Snow Factor with Crystal Ski get get excited about winter! It was a fabulous ski evening where we got the chance to hit the slopes before the ski season is upon us - ideal to get a lil bit of practice in before you head off to swoosh down the slopes. As you may already know I'm a bit of a ski lover and as a Piste Princess couldn't wait to test out my ski legs for the first time this season!

Crystal are ski holiday specialists, they know everything there is to know about the world of snow! If you're thinking of heading to the mountains they make everything easy for you and just love the snow and mountains. They know all about a huge array of resorts and have insider knowledge for amazing hints and tips. I actually went to Andorra with Crystal in March and had an absolute ball. They just had everything under control and kept us busy with trips like the Mountain Meal that we never would have found out about before!

Crystal are here to make booking a ski holiday easy peasy. You can jet off to Italy, France, Austria and even head a little further afield to the USA or Canada, You've got the choice of chalets, hotels or apartments. You can go as a group, go all out luxury  or even go solo to the mountains. They've got amazing deals on offer, as well as snow reports to keep you up to date on the conditions of where you're headed!

Basically Crystal are your go-to for all things snow!

We started the evening with a bit of a buffet in Bar Varia - gotta fuel up before you pop the skis on you know.

Bar Varia is the Barvarian themed restaurant and Bier Halle at Snow Factor. They offer up delicious home-cooked meals, some with their own mouth-watering Barvarian taste. Plus on Fridays and Saturdays there's often live music, bands and DJs - ideal for a bit of apres. There's plenty of beers to choose from and of course some lovely chilled wines. It's just a really lovely place to chill out whilst watching the skiers do their stuff on the slope.

And then we got the chance to hit the slopes - yaaaaa!

As I've skied before I headed off for some free time on the slopes!

At Snow Factor there's two slopes, the advanced and beginner and it's actually Scotland's only year round snow-sport resort and it's the longest indoor real snow slope in the UK, pretty dandy. As well as enjoying free time on the slope you can also get lessons for skiing or snowboarding. You couldn't get a more perfect place practice, learn and just enjoy the slopes!

After skiing of course you have to head back to Bar Varia for a bit of apres....

A had such a fabulous evening with Crystal and it definitely got me excited to get my skis on and head to the mountains at Christmas time! Snow Factor is just an amazing evening out where you can spent an evening doing something different that you love.

So Crystal, where should I book my next ski adventure to.....

Girls Day Out: Bloggers Eve

An evening of girlie pampering and exclusive insights? Sign me up!

Last year I popped along to the Girls Day Out in Glasgow and had just the loveliest, girly time, so when I was invited along to Bloggers Eve to prepare us all for the event this year I was there in a shot. The evening gave us the chance to hear from some of the exhibitors that will be there this year, as well as a touch of pampering and plenty of girlie wonderfulness!

We all gathered at the Metropolitan Bar in Merchant City and I was just absolutely delighted by what I found!

The tables were laden with the most delicious looking afternoon tea from Metropolitan. The three tiers of the cake stands were decorated with the most scrumptious cakes and scones. I mean you just can't go wrong with a scone smothered in cream and jam. Heaven. Of course a couple of sandwiches had to be enjoyed first and everything was washed down with some bubbles.

Once all the beauty bloggers of Glasgow were gathered we were off!

After an introduction to Girls Day Out and what it means Fake Bake took to the floor. The world's largest independent tanning brand chatted us through their revolutionary products and explained how they're always developing what they're offering. Fake Bake is a really luxurious brand and using their own premium ingredients they are experts on giving you the most wonderful glow!

Next up was F.A.C.E. the semi-permanent and cosmetic make-up studio. Now semi-permanent make-up is something I really know nothing about, so I was excited to hear from the experts in the business! Over the past few years there's definitely been a rise in the popularity of semi-permanent make-up, so it was intriguing to hear how it's changed in the past few years. The lovely founder of F.A.C.E. explained how it's all about enhancing your features and why it's so popular.

The third speaker was from somewhere we all know, Urban Decay, the brand we all know and love. Urban Decay "mixes  femininity, audacity and fun" creating a brand that has become loved by beauty bloggers and make-up junkies alike. They're amazing range of products are all experimentation and they've got one of the biggest shade ranges in the industry. They really are beauty products that have a huge following and are so loved!

Last, but not least was Urban Hair and Beauty an award-winning salon that definitely knows the trade inside out. The lovely ladies talked over the trends that they predict will be in the coming seasons, as well as describing the 'three-bobble trick' that's just a wonder! It's clear that these ladies have a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to hair and they definitely knew what they were talking about!

To finish off the evening we were able to have a wander round and get to know the exhibitors better!

Massage and Glow got themselves set up and I had the most relaxing massage that was just bliss, as the noisy room melted away. I also stopped by Yerba Water, the latest drink in health and nutrition. In a nutshell it's kind of like green tea, but better! Boosting your energy levels it's the perfect addition to a fit and healthy lifestyle - plus it was actually pretty tasty!

You also couldn't miss the amazing hair-dos that were going on and go course the mountain of make-up!

It was just the perfect girlie evening and definitely got me excited for the show! It was so good to meet some of the people that will be exhibiting on the day and getting a taste of what they're all about. We were absolutely spoilt and it was the loveliest, most indulgent and luxurious night, so thank you so much for having me along!

If this has got you all excited for Girls Day Out, this year it will held on 2-4 of December and you can already grab your tickets if you just can't wait!

Perfect for the In-Between

What to wear when the weather is just being a little annoying...

I am definitely someone who is more than a little excited for Autumn. Bring on the chunky jumpers, the woolly scarves and cosy boots. I'm the kind of person who just can't dress for summer, simply because this doesn't involve loads of layering and plenty of knitwear. I just adore being comfy and cosy - ain't nothing wrong with that!

But there's always that random week when the weather decides to confuse everyone, it's not a crisp, cool Autumn day and it's probably not the height of the Summer heat. So where does this leave you outfit-wise? Well my friends, I think I've found the perfect go-to for those more than awkward days.

All you need is a light-weight jacket and some cream jeans and you're good to go!

I love the bomber style of jacket that's been everywhere at the moment. It just has a real 'cool' style (did I just say that?!) to it and makes you're outfit look instantly updated. I'm not going to lie I'm not usually a massive fan of green, the kind of forest green in (fake) suede is really lovely. The black collar and pulled in waistband just add the finishing touches.

I confess, I struggle with white jeans. So I find a more cream coloured pair a much better alternative. They're also perfect for when summer is disappearing and the more toned down cream can actually be really lovely and autumnal.

Open toe boots are one of those things that look really fantastic and you want to run around and snap up loads of pairs. Buuuuuuut they're actually quite difficult to find the perfect time to wear them! On clammy summer days for some they're just too warm, but pretty soon you'll be living in a trillion sock-lined boots. Round about now is the ideal time to get away with wearing these open toed beauties. I love the tan coloured of these perfectly bringing together the almost autumnal, cool tones of the outfit.

A black cami top underneath (I have a million of this style in a whole array of colours!) and a bright red bag to add a pop of colour and voila you're ready to go!
