Chaophraya: The New Menu Launch

Chaophraya is true Thai dining at its finest and I couldn't wait to pop along and give their new menu a whirl!

Slap bang in the middle of the shopping haven that is Buchanan Street, you'll find the grand and impressive Chaophraya Glasgow - it's pretty hard to miss! The now iconic restaurant serves up an authentic Thai dining experience and their new menu is definitely something to get excited about.

"Fusing culinary imagination with fine cuisine, Chaophraya's new menu will deliver a sophisticated edge to Thai dining, by offering a mix of eclectic and contemporary dishes inspired by tastes from across the Thai regions."

One aspect of Thai culture that Chaophraya really tries to emulate is the amazing Thai hospitality. Their motto is 'Ow Jai Sai' - we care about everything. And we really did feel looked after. My friend who was coming along with me was running a little late due to train dramas and they couldn't have been more accommodating, completing understanding and sympathising with the situation. We just felt wonderfully looked after right from the get go!

And then it was time to browse the mouth-watering menu!

What's a meal with friends without a little cocktail?! And Chaophraya has a really amazing selection! It would be so much fun to make your way through this menu that's for sure! In the end I went for a Chiang Rai, a fabulous mix of gin, ginger, lychee, apple, lemon and soda, just divine.

Cheers - and we were off on our culinary adventure!

We just had to go for the sharing platter to start so that we could try a bit of everything! It looked amazing when it arrived and we marvelled over all the tasty little bites to start us off. Then I had an amazing Thai Red Prawn Curry, that was delicious and just the right amount of spice. Across from me the Pad Thai smelt just sublime.

Chaophraya is all about the whole experience and the opulent and luxurious setting really adds to it. Filled with all sorts of Thai statues and artefacts it just oozes glamour and it feels like such a treat to be there. It's actually the largest Thai restaurant in Europe, but nothing is lost in its scale. It manages to feel intimate, as well as grand and awe-inspiring, a really decadent place to enjoy a meal.

And we couldn't resist dessert!

I opted for the Mango Meringue Roll, the freshness of the mango and the passionfruit was gorgeous and it was just perfectly light and refreshing. The White Chocolate Box also looked amazing!

It was such an amazing meal at Chaophraya and with such a fabulous menu you really feel immersed in a different cultural way of dining. It felt like such a treat and we were so well looked after from beginning to end! It was truly an real Thai experience in a spectacular setting, complete with an amazing atmosphere.

Thanks so much for Chaophraya for having me along - we had a ball and will definitely be back!
