Brunch at Cote Brasserie

Going out for brunch has to be one of the best things - especially when it's a celebration brunch!

Cote Brasserie recently invited me along for brunch to celebrate their first birthday in the city of Glasgow! I was delighted! All I heard was brunch and champagne and I was there! A year ago Cote opened up their first restaurant in Glasgow and to celebrate their success in that year a bunch of lovely bloggers were gathered together to say cheers!

Cote has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and feels really french and chic.

"Cote is inspired by the brasseries of Paris, championing relaxed all-day dining and serving up authentic French classics made from great quality, fresh ingredients."

The French inspired menu has an upmarket vibe to it and sounds oh-so-special. I could happily while away a fair few hours here (and we did on this particular Sunday morning!) there is just such a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

Pop the fizz then!

And pour the tea, no breakfast is complete without tea...

To begin we got into the french spirit with a pastry to start. It had to be a Pain au Chocolat for me, my absolutely favourite and Mary Berry would've been proud!

Next up Eggs Benedict!

Just so good. The homemade hollandaise was perfect and this is definitely a breakfast that I really love. Of course it tastes so much so much better with a glass of champagne!

A breakfast like this is a really special way to start the day and it just felt so lovely, luxurious and indulgent.

It's the little details that make Cote so special (the branded, ceramic water bottles, the fabulous tiled floor) and a real gem. It was so relaxing and I came away grin set for the rest of the day! It's the just ideal for any time, a long, lazy lunch or a celebratory dinner, Cote would have you covered.

I just can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!

Thanks so much to Cote Brasserie for inviting me along to celebrate their 1st birthday with them - I had the most fabulous time!

Chaophraya: The New Menu Launch

Chaophraya is true Thai dining at its finest and I couldn't wait to pop along and give their new menu a whirl!

Slap bang in the middle of the shopping haven that is Buchanan Street, you'll find the grand and impressive Chaophraya Glasgow - it's pretty hard to miss! The now iconic restaurant serves up an authentic Thai dining experience and their new menu is definitely something to get excited about.

"Fusing culinary imagination with fine cuisine, Chaophraya's new menu will deliver a sophisticated edge to Thai dining, by offering a mix of eclectic and contemporary dishes inspired by tastes from across the Thai regions."

One aspect of Thai culture that Chaophraya really tries to emulate is the amazing Thai hospitality. Their motto is 'Ow Jai Sai' - we care about everything. And we really did feel looked after. My friend who was coming along with me was running a little late due to train dramas and they couldn't have been more accommodating, completing understanding and sympathising with the situation. We just felt wonderfully looked after right from the get go!

And then it was time to browse the mouth-watering menu!

What's a meal with friends without a little cocktail?! And Chaophraya has a really amazing selection! It would be so much fun to make your way through this menu that's for sure! In the end I went for a Chiang Rai, a fabulous mix of gin, ginger, lychee, apple, lemon and soda, just divine.

Cheers - and we were off on our culinary adventure!

We just had to go for the sharing platter to start so that we could try a bit of everything! It looked amazing when it arrived and we marvelled over all the tasty little bites to start us off. Then I had an amazing Thai Red Prawn Curry, that was delicious and just the right amount of spice. Across from me the Pad Thai smelt just sublime.

Chaophraya is all about the whole experience and the opulent and luxurious setting really adds to it. Filled with all sorts of Thai statues and artefacts it just oozes glamour and it feels like such a treat to be there. It's actually the largest Thai restaurant in Europe, but nothing is lost in its scale. It manages to feel intimate, as well as grand and awe-inspiring, a really decadent place to enjoy a meal.

And we couldn't resist dessert!

I opted for the Mango Meringue Roll, the freshness of the mango and the passionfruit was gorgeous and it was just perfectly light and refreshing. The White Chocolate Box also looked amazing!

It was such an amazing meal at Chaophraya and with such a fabulous menu you really feel immersed in a different cultural way of dining. It felt like such a treat and we were so well looked after from beginning to end! It was truly an real Thai experience in a spectacular setting, complete with an amazing atmosphere.

Thanks so much for Chaophraya for having me along - we had a ball and will definitely be back!

But back to chatting about Supercuts and our evening of pampering and prosecco!

We headed along to Supercuts, St Rollox and found that it was a really great salon that was so welcoming and had a great atmosphere! The lovely ladies will bring you bang up to date, creating a really stylish and fashionable do!

I also love a salon that's packed with all kinds of goodies for your hair - I could browse them for hours!

For me it was all about creating volume!

The amazing ladies (they're just so talented!) got to work creating a head of curls and transforming my usually straight hair into a bouncy mass! I absolutely love seeing my hair all super curly, the bigger the better. I'm not going to lie I'm usually pretty lazy with my hair and just leave it to do its own thing, so I was so excited to see it completely transformed.

But the pampering wasn't over yet and I was also treated to a gorgeous manicure! I went for a really rich, dark colour for a more Autumnal look and loved it. It's such a treat to have a night of absolutely indulgent pampering! And now that I'd been well and truly pampered I felt like I was ready to head out and strut my stuff gurl!

It was so amazing to see the styles being created around me. There was fabulous quiffs, braiding, up-do's and curls and all the girls looked amazing! You have to agree don't these lovely girls just look stunning!

It was such a fun night and it's always a success when you come away giggling, excited and generally feeling pleased with yourself! It was just pure and simple fabulous!

Thank you so much to all the ladies at Supercuts for creating such a brilliant evening! It was an absolute treat - thank you so much for the invite!

What's Been Happening...?

It's all about food just now...

It's back! Mary's back! The tent is back! THE CAKES ARE BACK! I'm just a bit excited about the return of Great British Bake Off. I've always loved the cake-filled competition, I mean what tasty delights can they come up with this year?! And anyway don't we all love an excuse to cosy up on the sofa as the nights will soon to be getting darker, tea in one hand and a little sweet treat in the other watching Mary Berry on the hunt for soggy bottoms - I couldn't be happier.

My sister jetted off to Hvar this week and this time a year a ago I was there myself soaking up the sunshine. I fell absolutely head over heels in love with Hvar. It's just the best place and I'd go back in a heartbeat. If someone could please just take me back to days spent sipping on wine with a gentle sea breeze blowing whilst we picked out our favourite yacht I'd definitely love you forever.

So what should you do if you just want to feel fabulous for a day - head for a luxurious lunch in the sky! My sister and I decided it was time to treat ourselves. I jumped on a train through to Edinburgh and we climbed to the top of the indulgent Harvey Nicks and whiled away the hours drinking prosecco and eating amazing food - that's what weekends are about after all.

Weekends are also about getting together with friends, escaping the city and drinking pimms when it's sunny - never forget this.

Running in the theme of good food and drink is Taste Buchanan. This fabulous new foodie spot in Glasgow is a winner for sure. Filled with the very best street food that Glasgow has to offer, the top floor of the Buchanan Galleries has been transformed. With everything from delicious bao buns to irresistible ice cream and amazing cocktails this is the perfect little food spot about. Definitely climb up to the top and discover the amazing things that are going on with Taste Buchanan!

Yaaa it's Autumn! Don't get me wrong I love a bit of sunshine as much as the next person, but I do it when this time of year rolls around. It's all crisp, blue sky days with tumbling red and orange leaves and this all calls for only one thing - cosy jumpers and big woolly scarves, love it.

We all have those outfits that just work don't we. Mine just happens to be skinny jeans and stripes! Throw on a denim jacket and oversized scarf and I'm ready for a morning of brunch and shopping. Basic I know, bothered I'm not.

And here's the brunch! We actually wandered around for a bit before we eventually fell into Papii in Edinburgh, the smell of waffles inciting us. I mean this is all I could ever want. I big stack of waffles, swimming in the sweetest of maple syrups and covered in crispy bacon. You're drooling right now aren't you - cos I certainly am!

I just love all the frilly shirts that are about at the moment! They're not overly girly, but are just so adorable! I was so happy when I stumbled across this gem - definitely a fan of the frill.
